Nōht is built from plants. Seaweed-enriched cellulose, bio-nylon from renewable plant oils, bio-elastane from plant-derived feedstocks. The fabric delivers the same compression, stretch, breathability and moisture management as premium synthetic activewear. The difference is what it is made from, and what that means for our skin and the environment over time.

We are not asking anyone to compromise on performance for principle. That was a non-starter from the beginning.

We spend several hours a day in activewear. Most of us have never stopped to ask what the fabric is actually doing to our skin during that time.

Here is what nōht's fabric does. The seaweed-enriched cellulose has been independently tested and shown to neutralise free radicals within 120 minutes of skin contact. Free radicals, produced by sweat, UV exposure and pollution, accelerate inflammation and cellular ageing. That antioxidant activity is retained after 50 wash cycles. The smooth cellulose fibre surface also reduces friction and releases moisture more readily than synthetics, which means less irritation, less heat build-up, a calmer experience against the skin.

It is certified under OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I. That is the highest classification for textiles in direct skin contact, the same standard used for babywear. The fabric is dermatologically tested, rated Excellent for skin compatibility, naturally hypoallergenic, latex-free and free from PFAS, BPA and phthalates.

It means the raw materials come from plants. These replace the petroleum feedstocks used to make conventional polyester, nylon and spandex. We were not interested in building something that asked us to trade performance for integrity. Two years of development was specifically to ensure we did not have to.

Sweat management is where most activewear makes its quiet compromises. The cellulose fibre system draws perspiration away from the skin and moves it through the fabric surface for faster evaporation. The fabric also carries a bio-based finishing treatment derived from micro-algae that accelerates moisture movement at the fibre surface during activity. That finish is produced with a verified 80% lower carbon footprint than conventional textile finishing treatments, which says something about what the industry considers acceptable. The result handles heat and humidity through high-intensity training and stays comfortable all day.

Bio-nylon is a polyamide, the same polymer family as conventional nylon. The difference is feedstock: ours is derived from renewable plant oils rather than crude oil, verified through ISCC PLUS certification. Nōht contains no conventional petrochemical plastics: polyester, nylon or spandex. The fabric is built from seaweed-enriched cellulose and first of it's kind bio-nylon and bio-elastane which come from renewable plant sources. The cellulosic fibres are biodegradable at fibre level.

No textile has zero environmental impact. Bio-nylon is a bio-based polyamide. Bio-based fibres may still shed micro-fibres. The distinction is that our material does not contain or release conventional petro-chemical micro-plastics. Our bio-nylon is derived from renewable feedstocks rather than fossil fuels. We continue to develop material innovations and are actively monitoring microfibre research and filtration technology.

The seaweed-enriched cellulose fibres are certified biodegradable at fibre level, with verified biodegradation of approximately 41 days under composting conditions. The overall garment contains a significantly higher proportion of biodegradable fibre than conventional synthetic activewear, which persists in landfill for decades.

The wellness industry is poorly regulated compared to food and pharmaceuticals. Nōht is third-party certified. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I across all fibres for skin safety. EU Ecolabel for the seaweed cellulose. ISCC PLUS for bio-nylon feedstock traceability. USDA BioPreferred for verified renewable carbon content across bio-nylon and bio-elastane. FSC for sustainably managed forestry inputs. TÜV Austria OK Compost HOME for cellulose home compostable biodegradation. Antioxidant activity verified through Intertek laboratory testing.

The seamless knit is buttery soft, breathable, compressive and flexible. It holds shape without that suffocating tightness. It's comfortable enough for all day wear, not just workouts. The cellulose fibre surface sits against the skin differently to synthetic fabrics, in a way most people notice within the first wear and find difficult to go back from.

Cold machine wash, mild detergent. No bleach, no fabric softener, fabric softener degrades the fibre structure. Air dry where possible. Tumble dry on low if needed, though air drying will extend the life of the garment. It is designed to last.

Fibres sourced from certified suppliers across Europe and Asia. Garment production by a specialist sustainable activewear manufacturer in China, under verified ethical labour standards. Designed in Australia.

The supply chain spans multiple regions because the best available materials do not all come from the same place. We source where the integrity is, not where it is most convenient.

We have intentionally priced our pieces in line with the industry average. The seaweed-enriched cellulose, plant-derived bio-nylon and bio-based elastane in this fabric cost substantially more to source and produce than petrochemical alternatives. We believe bio-performance activewear should be accessible, not exclusive, so we absorbed that difference through tighter margins rather than passing it on as a premium.

We grow within the capacity of the business and produce only what is needed. That means no overproduction, no excess inventory and no pressure to clear stock through discounting. We do not believe clothes should be devalued at the end of a three-month cycle, particularly when they took two years to develop and are designed to be worn year-round.

We are building something that did not exist before. An entirely new category of performance wear, made from plants rather than petroleum, priced fairly and available to anyone who wants it. That requires a different model. We release collections as movements, not seasons, and we price them honestly from the beginning.

The price you see today will be the same next month. It was never set with a sale in mind. It was set to reflect what responsible materials, ethical production and genuine innovation actually cost, and to make sure as many people as possible can be part of this.

Pronounced "nought."

Nought is an Early Middle English word meaning nothing, zero, no thing. We chose it because it represents where we are heading. Zero reliance on petrochemicals. Zero harmful chemistry against the skin. Zero compromise on performance to get there.

We are not there yet. No material system is. But zero is our north star, and the name is a daily reminder of what we are working toward. Every decision we make, from fibre sourcing to production to how we price, is measured against that direction.

It is a small word for a large ambition. We think that is fitting.

Every morning, before food or exercise or screen time, we decide what to put on our bodies. The activewear industry has spent decades ensuring we do not think too hard about that decision. The performance credentials of polyester, nylon and spandex are real. So are the margin incentives. The question of what petroleum-derived microfibres shed into our bodies and the environment with every wash has been treated, largely, as someone else's problem.

We stopped accepting that framing. We read ingredients. We ask questions brands used to ignore.
