What is nōht

What makes nōht different from other activewear?

Most activewear is made from polyester, nylon and spandex. These materials release microplastics and petrochemical residues when heated by sweat and friction. Nōht is built from a proprietary bio-based textile system made with sea-algae enriched cellulose, plant-derived bio-nylon and bio-elastane. It delivers compression, stretch, breathability and moisture control without relying on fossil-fuel plastics or PFAS chemistry .

In short, it is activewear that works with the body rather than against it.

Skin & Wellness

How does nōht support skin health?

Nōht’s fabric contains seaweed-enriched cellulose that has been independently shown to exhibit antioxidant activity. In testing, the fabric neutralised free radicals within 120 minutes of contact with the skin. Free radicals are unstable molecules created by UV exposure, pollution and sweat that accelerate skin ageing and inflammation. Neutralising them supports calmer, healthier skin during wear

Is this safe for sensitive or reactive skin?

Yes. The fabric is dermatologically tested and rated “Excellent” for skin compatibility. It is certified under OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I, which is the highest standard for textiles in direct contact with skin, including babywear. It is also free from PFAS, BPA and phthalates

What does ‘bio-active’ mean?

It means the fabric does more than just cover the skin. The sea-algae enriched fibres actively interact with the skin by delivering antioxidant activity and soothing properties rather than simply acting as an inert layer .

Performance

Will this actually perform like premium activewear?

Yes. Nōht is engineered to match or exceed leading performance brands. The fabric delivers four-way stretch, strong compression, breathability and moisture-wicking. It retains 95 percent of its stretch after 30 washes, resists pilling and abrasion, and shows no visible fading after repeated washing and UV exposure

Does it dry quickly?

Yes. The textile is moisture-wicking and quick-drying, designed for both high-intensity training and all-day wear

Sustainability

Is nōht plastic-free?

Nōht does not use traditional petrochemical polyester, nylon or spandex. Instead, it uses renewable, plant-derived bio-nylon and bio-elastane combined with sea-algae enriched cellulose. The textile is bio-based and designed to biodegrade at the fibre level for responsible end of life, rather than persisting as microplastic waste

Does it release microplastics in the wash?

No. Because the fibres are not derived from fossil plastics, they do not shed persistent plastic microfibres into waterways the way conventional activewear does

What happens when I am done with it?

The fibres are certified biodegradable at fibre level and designed to return safely to the environment under composting or soil conditions rather than remaining in landfill for centuries

Safety & Certifications

Is this independently verified?

Yes. Nōht is certified under multiple international standards including OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, USDA BioPreferred®, ISCC PLUS and EU Ecolabel. Antioxidant activity has been verified via independent laboratory testing, and biodegradation has been verified through TÜV Austria and Vinçotte certifications

Fit, Feel & Care

Is it thick or stiff?

No. The seamless knit construction creates a smooth, compressive feel that is lightweight, breathable and flexible. It holds shape without feeling heavy or rubberised.

How do I wash it?

Cold wash with mild detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softener. Air dry where possible. The fabric is durable, colour-stable and designed to maintain performance over time

Ethics & Production

Where is nōht made?

Materials are sourced from Europe, Japan and Italy, including Icelandic seaweed and European cellulose. The yarn is spun and knitted by a specialist sustainable activewear partner in China, with ethical labour standards and certified supply chains. Production is designed to minimise shipping and waste while protecting proprietary technology

Brand & Philosophy

What does Pure Movement mean?

Pure Movement is the idea that what touches your skin should support your body, not burden it. No petrochemicals. No microplastics. No unnecessary compromises. Just performance, skin wellbeing and environmental responsibility moving in the same direction.
